FASHION PHOTOGRAPHY
I often say, “I’m one of the least superficial people you’ll ever meet caught in one of the most superficial industries”. It might sound like a contradiction, but it is also what makes me a versatile photographer, especially in fashion where beauty standards vary from location to location. Whether towns, cities, or countries, they all lend their own unique charm to their respective fashion trends, allowing me to learn said distinctive standards without getting lost in my own and eventually highlighting each and every one of them in my photography.
Due to those subtle nuances and ephemeral nature, fashion photography used to be my favourite style for a long time: Working with experienced models and designers, big brands, shops and agencies and creating campaigns and editorials for shop windows and magazines. No two projects would be the same and neither were the people involved. Being part of big teams of 20-30 people where standards are high and expectations even higher, is what gave me drive and passion.
People exchange their stories on set and you get to see other professionals flourishing in their element. There is pretty much new inspiration on every corner. A room full of creatives allowing you to make new connections and finding friendships within a field that shares a common interest and lifestyle.
I probably reached my high in this field when I lived in the UK, having the London fashion scene and upcoming designers on my doorstep.
Whereas my heart still yearns for this on some level, it is probably less present, coming back in little inspirational waves here and then and peaking through in my commercial or advertising style as well.
