Digital Art
DIGITAL ART
If you’ve used layers in an editing programme before, you know the feeling of not being able to count them anymore. With that said, welcome to the more abstract area of my creative mind that has lost count of layers hundreds of times!
I don't take myself to serious with creating these, and despite having worked on a handful of comissions, it’s certainly not something I would call my expertise. Nevertheless, its a form of art that allows me to create something that isn’t possible in camera.
It is not always planned when taking the original photo, which makes the process even more interesting. I enjoy coming back to an old photograph that I’ve looked at so many times, but later turning it into something new by adding literal layers or by completely digitally repainting it. Often I end up surprising myself, exploring new techniques during the process.
I’ve been toying with the idea of exploring AI art, merging my photography with an even deeper realm, but I think it will take me a little longer to actually gain my own aesthetic for it, without loosing the appreciation of the hours of work that go into manual, digital art. Ergo, anything you see here has had hours of work invested, every stroke or pattern specifically chosen to add to the original image, coming from a place in my brain, rather than from an artificial intelligence. But let’s keep an open mind and see what the future holds, it’s never too late to learn a new skill.
